Victor Zglavoci is the Chief of Police in Colibasi, a village about 100 Km south of Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, overseeing ten other villages in the region. Zglavoci takes pride in his work, and even with a lower staff capacity, he is convinced that each of his officers is dedicated to ensuring the safety of the community.
Two solar trees that generate photovoltaic electricity are being installed in the capital city of Moldova. The construction works are in progress, and Chisinau people will soon benefit from "smart tree services". They will be able to charge up for free their mobile devices, computers, electric bicycles; have access to the Internet and relax. In the evenings, the trees will light up the surroundings due to the stored sun energy during the day. The solar trees will be under 24-hour video surveillance. The initiative belongs to the United Nations Development Programme and is being implemented in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall.
Starting from today, the residents of Copceac village, Ceadir-Lunga district, have access to a modern wastewater treatment plant and a new sewerage system thanks to the joint effort of several development partners: Federal Republic of Germany, through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Rotary Clubs from Germany and Belgium, the European Union and the SlovakAID Programme through the Embassy of the Slovak Republic.
The Community Centre of Zaim has been reopened today. It hosts a fanfare band, a choir, a dance studio, a gym and a library. Thanks to contributions received from the natives, local authorities and Swiss Government, over 4,000 residents of Zaim community (Causeni) will benefit from better conditions for cultural and leisure activities.
More than one thousand residents of Chisinau described the quality of life in the Capital City during a research conducted between May 2018 – April 2019. The initiative was is of the Innovation Laboratories of the UNDP Moldova: MiLab and Green City Lab – and was carried out in partnership with Chisinau City Hall.

The United Nations Organization and the Embassy of Sweden in Moldova, in partnership with the Government and Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, have organised on November 24 a classical music concert to launch the global Campaign “16 days of activism against gender-based violence”.
