Harmonization of the Moldovan legislation with the EU and implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, enhancing oversight practices, encouraging gender equality, as well as openness of the Parliament to engage with citizens and cooperate with civil society, and increasing its efficiency and transparency - here are the objectives of a new parliamentary support project financed by the Swedish Government and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Moldova.
On July 15, United Nations Volunteers will officially launch a new online volunteering service, now available online at https://onlinevolunteering.org. The service allows organizations in need of volunteers and people willing to volunteer online from around the world to connect with one another, so that volunteers can remotely support non-profit organizations that are working to promote peace and development around the world.

The institutions in charge will analyze the reports submitted by citizens and their examination status will be published online.
55 young people from the left bank of the Nistru River, Gagauz Yeri region and the southern districts of the Republic of Moldova are having fun-filled days at the fifth edition of ENERGEL Summer Camp held from July 6 to 17 in Danceni village, Ialoveni district. The summer camp is an initiative of the Energy and Biomass Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
Vocea Poporului newspaper in collaboration with UN Women Moldova has published the third edition of the Vocea Femeii supplement (Women’s Voice). The monthly supplement covers stories on women issues as well as women’s success stories. It challenges stereotypes and promotes gender equality.
According to public perceptions, the human rights in the Republic of Moldova are systematically violated, especially the right to health, the right to social protection and the right to work. These are only some of the conclusions of the study “Perceptions of human rights in the Republic of Moldova”, discussed publicly on 19th of July 2016. The study was elaborated within one of the UN projects in Moldova, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented in partnership with the Office of the People’s Advocate and the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality.
Over 20 thousand inhabitants of the city Dnestrovsk, situated on the left bank of the Nistru River, have access to a renovated clinic with trained medical staff and equipped in accordance with modern standards and practices. The clinic was officially inaugurated today. The event served as an opportunity for the European Union (EU), which funded the renovation, to took stock of the support provided to people from the left bank of the Nistru river for ensuring access to medical services.
Over 200 mayors – women and men - from Moldova participated on Thursday, July 21, within the national conference of Women's Network of the Congress of Local Authorities from Moldova (CALM) “Gender Equality in Local Government: Current Situation and Development Trends”. Women`s challenges to get into politics, their role in decision-making processes at local and national level, but also the status and action plan of Women's Network of CALM for the next two years were discussed at the event.
