• UNHCR marks World Refugee Day each year on June 20, to shine a light on the courage and resilience of families forced to flee war or persecution.  And each year UNHCR seeks to find a glimmer of hope in the global statistics we publish to show that the world is finding solutions to help heal the trauma refugees are living through on a daily basis.  But this year the hopeful signs are hard to find. 

• Thousands of people have come today to the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden to discover environment-friendly technologies and enjoy listening to solar-powered musical instruments. Sun Da-I Fest was organized by the Energy and Biomass Project – funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme;  the Energy Efficiency Agency and POT Music. The event culminates the EU Sustainable Energy Week in Moldova.

• 28 employees of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), including militaries and civilians, participated, for the first time, on Wednesday, June 22, within a workshop "Gender mainstreaming in the security sector in Moldova".

• 35 people - representatives of local public administration, but also of civil society – from Cimislia and Basarabeasca districts met with members of the Parliament on Monday, June 20, in Cimislia city, within the 14th edition of the Regional Parliamentary Forum "Dialogue with citizens".

Young job-seekers need a comprehensive career guidance system and better information on education choices and employment opportunities, reveals the World Bank’s report From Aspirations to Occupations: The Role of Information in Educational and Labor Market Decisions in Moldova. For the first time in Moldova, this report addresses how students make decisions, what information they use and who they consult, as well as what career guidance they find useful.

• Children form Dubasari, on the left bank of Nistru, could spent their leisure time in a useful manner and safe conditions. Hence, the community creative centre was renovated with the support of the European Union, within the” Support to Confidence Building Measures” Programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). 

• 27 young Roma women and men, who decided to discover their community`s issues and engage in solving them, participate, during the period June 24-29, in the summer school "Zorjaras – Empowering Roma Girls". The summer school kicked off on Friday, June 24, in Vadul lui Voda city.
  
   

• Sports field for handball, tennis, volleyball and basketball, equipped sports pavilion, a renovated multifunctional center, and a playground for the kindergarten - all of these was possible due to the financial aid from the European Union provided within the Support to Confidence Building Measures Programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
