This year the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will review the official number of the Moldovan population, with the support of UNFPA and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), in accordance with the data of the 2014 Population and Housing Census.

In March, UN Women aims to explore the activism and achievements of women who have shaped the rights and lives of women and girls worldwide, and made history. In this context, on the eve of the International Women's Day, the 8th of March, UN Women in Moldova (United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment) launches the campaign “You Know You Can", dedicated to women who managed to break the norms in traditionally male-dominated fields.
On May 24, 2019, the second edition of InnoVoter, creative laboratory in the electoral field, has been launched. 30 young men and women fond of IT innovations are attending the event, having the mission to create an interface to visualize data on the financing of political parties and electoral campaigns.

It was the last winter when the temperature inside of the House of Cultural from Carmanova village, left bank of the Nistru River, was as low as outside. The European Union has offered financial support of 150,795 Euro to renovate the building and to install a modern heating system. Thus, for the first time in 30 years, all building’s premises will be used during winter time. Moreover, all the villagers, who attend various classes organized by the Cultural Hall, and those who just attend concerts, will enjoy improved conditions.
- Throughout a period of three months, citizens of Moldova will have the opportunity to contribute with feedback and recommendations regarding the quality of public services provided by the National Chamber of Social Insurance (NCSI) by using feedback and evaluation devices placed in several NCSI offices.
Development partners and the private sector in Moldova are joining efforts to address society’s current challenges. On 20 March 2018, the first dialogue on the cooperation and contribution of the private sector to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) took place at the Tekwill Center.
- To ensure that the United Nations is accessible to all, UN in Moldova organized, for the fourth year in a row, on 22 May an Open House event. More than 100 people, mostly school and university students, visited the UN House and learned firsthand about the work of the United Nations agencies and projects in Moldova.
- More than 130 representatives of district education divisions, school principals and teachers, doctors and adolescent health specialists, students and parents from a number of districts of the country undertook the common commitment to support youth health education and to prevent risky behaviors among adolescents. The subjects were discussed in the first national conference entitled “School-community partnership for promoting youth health education”.
