Eight villages from Hancesti district connected their schools, kindergartens, and mayoralties to biomass heating systems replacing the gas or coal ones. Two communities succeeded to connect all their public institutions to green energy. The change was possible with the European Union assistance provided through Moldova Energy and Biomass Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.

The U.S. Embassy together with UNDP Moldova have donated to the Police of the Republic of Moldova 56 TETRA radio stations (52 portable stations and 4 mobile stations).
Two national laboratories from the Republican Clinical Hospital and the Mother and Child Institute were equipped with advanced equipment for the delivery of cervical screening services. In these laboratories, important cytological and histopathological analyzes are performed on a daily basis, allowing early diagnosis of precancerous cervical lesions and proper case management, thus preventing cervical cancer in women.
Nine economic projects will be implemented and new businesses will be launched in nine localities across the country due to local authorities’ cooperation with native migrants abroad and local entrepreneurs.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection signed a cooperation agreement to support the implementation of the National Gender Equality Strategy and of the policy documents on preventing and combating domestic violence and violence against women.
