  • Human rights are inalienable and inherent to all people, regardless of who they are, who they love, what their views or preferences are. No one must be excluded, restricted or persecuted for those - no compromise is possible in this matter.

Every person has the right to be a full member of society, bringing diversity to it.

The United Nations has always called for elimination of discrimination against LGBTQI+ people and supported their full inclusion and participation in the society. As equal members of the society with the right to equal treatment without discrimination on the basis of equality and respect for dignity.

This year PRIDE march is an occasion to remind ourselves of the important collective commitment to human rights, equality, and the urgent need to stop homophobic and transphobic violence.

Always Together: United in diversity is our message, calling on the authorities and people of Moldova to act towards the elimination of bias and  stigma, that often result in hate speech, discrimination and violent acts targeting LGBTQI+ communities.

LGBTQI+ people continue to face hatred, injustice, violence, persecution, and  exclusion from our society. And each assault on a LGBTQI+ person for who they are is an assault on human rights.

We must tackle  the root causes of the devaluation and neglect of LGBTQI+ people as an essential element of the 2030 Agenda and its promise to leave no one behind.

The United Nations Moldova calls on everyone to join its efforts in building a world of peace, inclusion, freedom and equality for all.
