Benefits of the Republic of Moldova Joining the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC) Discussed by the Women MPs’ Platform of the 12th Legislature of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova
  • The Women MPs’ Platform of the 12th Legislature of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova hosted a tripartite dialogue to discuss the benefits and practical steps towards the country joining the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC). The event brought together Members of Parliament, representatives of the Government, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as the leadership of the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova (CNPM) and the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM).

The International Labour Organization and social partners, launched in Chisinau a digital gender-neutral job evaluation tool for companies
  • The International Labour Organization (ILO), in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MLSP) and social partners of the Republic of Moldova, orginized a workshop in Chisinau to validate an innovative digital tool developed by the ILO for the gender-neutral evaluation of jobs within enterprises. The tool strengthens the practical application of the principle of equal pay for work of equal value, as set out in ILO Convention No. 100. The initiative is orginised by the International Labour Organization within the project "Enhance Peace and Prosperity through Women’s Leadership and Inclusion (Women for Peace & Prosperity)”, with financial support from the Swiss Government

Over 150 young people strengthen their knowledge of climate, energy and environmental protection at EcoLeaders summer schools
  • More than 150 teenagers from 10 communities across the Republic of Moldova took part in the “EcoLeaders – youth for sustainable communities” summer schools in August, where they learned about climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency, biodiversity, water and waste through exercises, experiments and hands-on activities, while also exploring solutions they can apply in their own communities.

UNDP and China launch a project to improve access to rehabilitation services and assistive technologies for persons with disabilities in Moldova
  • A new US$2.5 million initiative, funded by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will support the Republic of Moldova in strengthening disability-inclusive services, improving access to rehabilitation and assistive technologies, and advancing the socio-economic inclusion of persons with disabilities.
