Secretary General’s Report on Special Measures for Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

This report covers the year 2023 and is prepared pursuant to General Assembly resolutions 71/278, 71/297, 72/312, 73/302, 75/321 and 76/274. The report provides updates on United Nations measures to strengthen prevention and response to sexual exploitation and abuse. 

The report contains updates on the implementation of the Secretary-General's strategy to improve the Organization’s efforts in preventing and responding to sexual exploitation and abuse by United Nations staff, related personnel and partners. The strategy prioritizes the rights and dignity of victims; ending impunity through reporting and investigations; engaging with Member States, civil society, and other partners to build a multi-stakeholder approach; and improving strategic communications for education and transparency. Prevention is clearly our foremost priority.
