The story of 15-year-old Beatricia Arion, diagnosed with Down syndrome, passionate about dance.
Beatrice Arion is 15 years old, and she’s been taking dance classes for 4 years now.
“I don’t dance only during class, but at home too. I turn on the music and dance for hours in front of the mirror”, she says.
Beatrice lives in Chișinău and has a mild form of Down syndrome – mosaicism.
“She’s like other children, but with a slight development delay, around two years. She’s like a 12-year-old teenager”, her mom, Tatiana, explains.
When music starts playing Beatrice smiles and focuses on her every step. Since fifth grade Beatrice studies in a special school, for children with vision issues, along with five other colleagues.
Her mother always encourages her, especially when other children ignore her, but Beatrice continues her dance.
“When you have a child with special needs you want to do everything well and fast. All children must enjoy their childhood”, she says.
