  • Thirty entrepreneurs will benefit from support in starting or developing a business thanks to the project "Advanced cross-river capacities for trade" (AdTrade), financed by Sweden and United Kingdom and implemented by UNDP. In addition to the non-repayable financial support, the winners will also benefit from mentorship and free access to thematic workshops for a period of 18 months. The supported businesses, 18 of which are led by women, will create over 60 permanent and seasonal jobs on both banks of the Nistru River, including roles for vulnerable groups. The assistance provided will help entrepreneurs overcome the multiple crises faced by Moldova.

Thirty proposals were selected from various fields of activity, including innovative beekeeping technologies, juice and jam production, spare parts for vehicles, and precooked food. In addition, the projects will support the production of fodder, solar panel cleaning services, IT and tourism services, sewing and tailoring workshops, and the production of equipment for circus performances.

To date, a further 36 entrepreneurs from both banks of the Nistru have benefited from mentorship and financial assistance provided by Sweden and the United Kingdom under the UNDP/AdTrade project to start or expand their businesses, create jobs, and deliver high-quality products and services both in the Republic of Moldova and abroad.

Supporting entrepreneurial initiatives to establish and develop enterprises on both banks of the Nistru River is a fundamental component of the “Advanced cross-river capacities for trade" (AdTrade) project.

Moreover, the project provides support to create long-term commercial partnerships between entrepreneurs on both sides of the Nistru River, enhancing their export potential, and creating conditions for them to tap into opportunities provided by external trade agreements. The AdTrade project also contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of companies on both banks of the Nistru in order to promote the export of their goods and services.
