Bebbo Fest - an event for parents and children, marked by music and outdoor activities
26 June 2023
- UNICEF Moldova celebrated the parenting month and the recent launch of the Bebbo application through a festival in Dendrarium Park
The last weekend of June was marked by a lot of fun, live music, interactive, educational and sports activities for about 600 parents and children who participated at Bebbo Fest. The event was organized by UNICEF Moldova to celebrate the parenting month, as well as the recent launch of the Bebbo application in our country.
For several hours, parents and children who participated at the event were transported to a magical realm. Interactive activities, live music, ball pits, slides, entertainers, selfie booth and many other surprises awaited the participants.
In the "Health and Development" area, children were given the opportunity to explore the profession of being a doctor and engage in role-play using toy sets.
„Education through Creation” provided a space for children to showcase their painting skills by creating unique designs on over a hundred bags.
Further, at the "Safety and Protection" zone, queues formed as children eagerly learned essential first aid rules from rescuers and firefighters.
Within the "Nutrition" zone, children gained knowledge in preparing nutritious recipes, while the "Development Games" area provided them with opportunities to engage in interactive and educational activities.
Various contests were held to assess children’s sporting abilities, in the company of animators and… soap bubbles.
Children transformed into their beloved cartoon characters at the "Face painting" zone.
The highlight of the event was a captivating live concert offered by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, featuring enchanting performances of beloved songs from popular cartoons.
The event drew inspiration from Bebbo - UNICEF's recently launched mobile app, which offers valuable support to parents and caregivers of children up to six years old. Bebbo provides expert-certified information and interactive tools covering various aspects of children's health and development.
"The bond with fellow parents is incredibly significant, and events like these provide us with an opportunity to engage with one another, exchange experiences, share opinions, and have discussions. For several months now, our family has welcomed another reliable companion - Bebbo, who assists us in various aspects of child-rearing, offering advice, game ideas, reminders about essential vaccinations, and more", mentioned Maria Marian, mother of two children.
"The first years of children's lives are critical for their physical, cognitive, social and emotional development, building the skills that will play a crucial role in their future achievements. I take this opportunity to urge both fathers and mothers to share the responsibilities of being equally involved in children's lives from an early age. Thus, the child could form a healthy attachment style, building solid foundations for his/her future relationships", said Ilija Talev, UNICEF Deputy Country Representative in the Republic of Moldova.
