CNSM, with the ILO support, launched the mobile application Employees’ Rights!

Within the Forum of Youth Trade Unionists, the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO), has launched the mobile application Employees’ Rights!

Starting from the fact that the actual generation is widely using internet and online resources and relying on the experience of other countries, the application is an additional support in assuring and promoting labour rights and guarantees, as well as other rights directly related to the area of work.

The application, inspired from the successful experience of the Trade Union Federation of Northern Macedonia, is addressed to both trade unions’ members and citizens non-trade unions’ members, interested in the activities carried out by CNSM and the novelties and changes in the labour and social-economic fields. The application offers citizens the opportunity to get informed about the activity of the CNSM and the entire trade union movement, to be aware of the latest changes in the labour and social-economic legislation, to find out the answers to the most frequently addressed questions regarding targeted fields.  

The president of CNSM, Igor Zubcu, mentioned that the mobile application will offer the opportunity to report cases of workers’ rights violations and will ensure employers’ accountability.

CNSM will provide all the necessary support to amend the situations of labour law infringement and many situations will be prevented and smoothed if there is cooperation between employers and trade unions’ organizations ", the official underlined.

Violeta Vrabie, the representative of the International Labour Organization, emphasized that this application is a tool aimed to provide and effective protection at work.

"The International Labour Organization is supporting the CNSM in the design and implementation of relevant and effective platforms to bring the trade union closer to its members and ensure their effective protection at work. This app is a step forward to help the members of CNSM and other workers in need, to feel the trade unions’ support." she stated.

Furthermore, the mobile application is a source of useful information for employees, such as: the latest amendments of the regulatory framework in the area of work, occupational safety and health, social insurance, payroll, employment, etc.; answers to the most frequently addressed questions in the labour and social-economic areas or questions that, in the opinion of CNSM, are of interest to the general public. At the same time, the respective application will include reporting of violations of rights and interests of employees - union members and their subsequent mitigation and, therefore, will ensure adequate protection of legal rights and interests of employees, members of the trade unionss.
