The main strategic planning document of the country - the National Development Strategy "Moldova 2030", was approved on November 7, 2018 by the Government.
The strategy sets long-term sectoral development priorities, focusing on improving the quality of citizens' lives. It aims to focus the public policies of the Republic of Moldova on the problems, interests and aspirations of the people. The document will also contribute to the strategic allocation of budgetary and institutional resources, according to the objectives set for the four basic pillars:
- Sustainable and inclusive economy;
- Strong human and social capital;
- Fair and efficient institutions;
- Healthy environment.
For the development of these areas, 10 sustainable development objectives (SDO's) at national level have been set up by 2030, including guaranteeing quality education, ensuring effective governance, increasing people's access to infrastructure and improving working conditions. For each of the ten objectives the current situation, the basic factors of the vulnerability of the people were analyzed, the strategic vision and the priority actions were formulated. Long-term development scenarios have been identified with the support of the UN and the World Bank.
The National Development Strategy "Moldova 2030" was elaborated through an extensive participatory exercise, being the result of the activity of ten inter-ministry groups. These groups included representatives of local public administration, civil society, business and academia.
