Grants for non-governmental and community organizations to address environmental challenges

26 April 2019

  • Non-governmental and community organizations are invited by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) to submit project proposals valued up to 50,000.00 USD to address environmental challenges.

The proposals need to cover one of the following thematic areas:

  • Community Landscape and Seascape Conservation;
  • Co-benefits of access to the energy system with low-carbon;
  • Innovative intelligent agroecology in terms of climate change;
  • Local to Global Chemical Management Coalitions.

The deadline for submitting the offers is 31 May 2019. More details are available on the program's website.

In Moldova, SGP started its activity in 2013. Since then, it has been successful in funding and supporting more than 27 projects. Thus, 198.57 tons of CO2 emissions were avoided due to the use of energy-efficient technologies. At the same time, conditions have been created to maintain 7830 hectares of protected areas.

The Programme is a GEF corporate programme, implemented by UNDP and executed by UNOPS.
