Launch of the Raising Awareness Campaign for Youth “The future is yours”
19 May 2017
- The International Labour Organisation (ILO) project ”Promotion of Youth Employment”, in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the National Employment Agency launches, today, June 7, the information and raising awareness campaign ”The future is yours”. The campaign will be unfolded throughout the country, during one month, and will include the following: broadcasting of video and audio spots, dissemination of printed information materials and releasing a range of thematic radio broadcasts.
The campaign aims at informing the young people aged 15-18 years about the importance of taking a correct decision with respect to the future profession and promoting among employers the advantages of hiring young graduates.
Through the launched message, we aim at educating, motivating and encouraging employers to hire young graduates of the VET system or higher education, who haven’t yet accumulated the necessary experience. It is obvious that their apparent engagement and investing in the professional growth of young people, will certainly amplify the development of their own enterprise.
Another problem the youth is facing today is the failure to correctly choose the adequate profession, which would allow them to find a job much easier, in the future.
That is why the campaign also promotes the well-informed and committed choosing of the profession by young people, using different sources of information and benefiting from an appropriate guidance by matching the capacities and abilities of young persons with the demand of the labour market of the Republic of Moldova.
During the entire campaign period, until July 7, the project along with its partners plans to tackle, at national level two main subjects: the development of qualifications and competences and facilitation of school to work transition of young people.
ILO project ”Promotion of Youth Employment” was launched within the SIDA-ILO global partnership, the main beneficiaries being the National Employment Agency and the Ministry for Labour, Social Protection and Family. The main objective of the project is to consolidate the capacities of Moldovan constituents involved in the implementation of the National Employment Strategy (NES 2017-2021) with a clear youth and migration focus, as well as having strengthened their capacities on macroeconomic policies for promoting more and better jobs and for tackling inequalities on the labour market.
