Imi Pasa innovation challenge has announced its winners

  • Moldova Social Innovation Lab - MiLab (a joint project of UNDP Moldova and E-Government Center) announced five finalists of the project “Imi Pasa Innovation Challenge".

Between 20 September and 20 October 2016, users of the reporting civic platform www.imipasa.md had an opportunity to submit their ideas for community projects directly on the web-site. MiLab with the financial support of the British Embassy in Chisinau launched www.imipasa.md in July 2016. Community projects initiative have come up to demonstrate the impact of civic engagement and accountability.

Overall, 83 project ideas were submitted. Each submitted project had to contain problem description, solution and implementation mechanisms, and the budget.

At the first selection stage, all project ideas were voted by users of the platform. Afterwards, the Selection Committee, made up of project partners and MiLab’s team, analyzed the projects in compliance with the following criteria - community involvement in the project, financial feasibility of the project, sustainability of the project and consideration of the interests and needs of socially vulnerable groups. As a result, 5 best projects were selected for funding:

  1. “Renovation of the school library – creation of user-friendly space”, Lyceum "Pan Halippa" Edinet.
  2. “Zebras Art”, Pupils Union of Moldova.
  3. “Renovation of the Zaikin Park”, Chisinau, Oberlicht NGO.
  4.  “Friendly space for children with autism”, SOS AUTISM, Chisinau.
  5. "Small steps towards great achievements”, Ivan Vazov High School, Taraclia.

The projects will be implemented by initiative groups, in partnership with state institutions or non-governmental organizations, and will be finalized by March 2017.
