UN Moldova COVID-19 Monthly Bulletin - December 2020

The number of coronavirus cases continued to grow at an accelerated pace during the first half of December, which saw some of the highest figures for the number of daily new cases registered since the beginning of the

pandemic, including the record-high number of 1,766 cases, which was registered on December 9. However, during the second part of the month, the growth in cases started to slow down, with the observed downwards

movement also continuing during the first week of the new year.

The total number of confirmed cases surpassed the 140,000-case mark at the end of December and continued to grow gradually since then. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 149,391.
