In Ungheni, children's clothes are manufactured under the brand "Girofunny".
Behind this business is Corina Țăranu, an entrepreneur who, until she got her own brand, provided sewing services for various foreign companies.
"Practically my career started once I became a mother and this probably influenced me along the way to also produce children's clothes," says Corina Țăranu.
With the help of the "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF, Corina Țăranu managed to buy a very specific and expensive line of machinery. The grant, worth 30,000 euros, was put towards the purchase of several machines: an embroidery machine, a button-stapling machine, and a digital program for digitizing patterns.
These investments contributed to the launch of a new production line of children's clothing.
Now, all products under the "Girofunny" brand can be purchased online both by consumers in the Republic of Moldova and by those abroad.
Corina Țăranu is one of the 75 entrepreneurs from Cahul and Ungheni regions who benefited from a grant worth 30,000 euros under the "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
