Press Release

Launch of the web platform on occupational profiles for youth

20 August 2017

  • The National Employment Agency (NEA), with the assistance of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Project on Youth employment promotion, announces the launching of the web platform www.cariera.anofm.md, destined for young people.

Carrier guidance and employment counselling has become one of the main tools in developing and establishing  young person's personality, as well as in proper selection of the occupation according to his/her knowledge, desire and aspirations.

A problem that young people face today is the lack of comprehensive information on necessary skills, based on individual aspirations, for future career, correlated with the requirements of the labour market, which would ultimately allow obtaining a suitable job.

In this respect, due to a study, based on the latest available statistical data, the situation of young people on the labour market of the Republic of Moldova was examined and the occupations with the most significant weight of young people were identified. These activities include a description of tasks, the context of work, the level of education and qualifications - necessary to properly select the future occupation.

"The innovative career guidance and employment counselling initiatives, as well as the mentioned youth platform, would help to better align the educational system to the labour market needs. As a result – the Objective 8 of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, to which the Republic of Moldova has committed to "promote an inclusive and lasting economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all” will be achieved," stated Ms VioletaVrabie, the ILO Project Coordinator.

The web platform www.cariera.anofm.md is a new tool, oriented towards youth, that are in the dilemma with respect to their future professional career.

“NEA, through this platform, will  assist the young people by giving them the opportunity to make decisions after they have been well informed about the right choice of the profession according to their aspirations, wishes and knowledge”, said Ms Raisa Dogaru, NEA director.  In addition to that, she mentioned that this particular action is one of the objectives of the National Employment Strategy for 2017-2021 - correlating the educational system with labour market requirements, for better qualifications and skills.

It is worth mentioning that career guidance and employment counselling services would help to increase the chances of finding a job corresponding to professional aspirations, skills and job offers available on the labour market, through full integration and involvement, access to information and quality services, education and work.
