Over 600 public agents from 25 districts were trained to prevent corruption risks

610 representatives of local public authorities including secretaries of local councils, mayors, deputy mayors and those responsible for documenting corruption risks and planning activities for their mitigation, attended the training course. The participants learned about the provisions of the legal and normative framework in the field of integrity and anticorruption measures. They also learned how to develop an integrity plan and fill in a Corruption Risks Register.

“This training course will help me, at practical level, to identify vulnerabilities and risk factors in my and my institution’s activities, to implement an efficient system of risks mitigation through ensuring transparency in decision making process and avoiding conflicts of interest”, noted Iurie Frunza, the Secretary of the Echimauti Local Council, Rezina district.   

“Being a new field of activity for local public administration, this training represents a timely opportunity to empower us with specific knowledge, considering we are being involved in numerous activities”, said Tatiana Beschieru, Head of Public Administration Section from Nisporeni District Council.

According to the National Anticorruption Strategy, local councils develop and approve anticorruption strategies and action plans at local level, based on the corrupt practices spread in the respective community. NAC is the institution responsible by law to offer methodological support to public entities for implementing an efficient corruption risk management and developing integrity plans. NAC is also responsible for monitoring the implementation of the integrity plan and the reporting procedures.
