Belarusian film series on HIV positive young man "Above the Sky" will be broadcasted at Moldova 2

The movie was produced in 2012 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Belarus.

In eight episodes of 30 minutes each, the film illustrates the drama of a 20-year young man who suddenly finds out about being infected with HIV. Since then, his life becomes gloomy, but determination and fight made possible for him to regain prestige, friends and love.

Due to this film, the producer Andrei Kureicik was recognized as the most successful debutant in Belarus.

According to the estimations, by the end of 2014 there were 17,541 people living with HIV in Moldova. According to official data, there were registered 9,398 HIV-positive people in the period 1987-2014. 93% of these cases represents people of 15-49 years, and almost a quarter are young people aged 15-24.

The campaign is supported by the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), UNODC (UN Office on Drugs and Crime), UNAIDS (Joint UN Program on HIV / AIDS), OHCHR (Office of the UN High Commissioner for the Human Rights) in partnership with the Ombudsman Office and the Council for preventing and eliminating discrimination and ensuring equality. The NGOs Positive Initiative and the League of people living with HIV, Genderdoc-M provide informational support to the campaign.

The series was broadcast in premiere in Moldova at the public TV Moldova 1 in December 2015 and re-broadcast in January 2016.
