Regional Parliamentary Forum in Cimişlia "The people`s voice must be heard"

The forum was attended by the member of the parliament Inna Supac, from the parliamentary committee for human rights and interethnic relations; Stefan Vlas, member of the public administration, regional development, environment and climate change committee; and Elena Hrenova, from the committee on social protection, health and family. Also, at the forum was present the head of Cimislia district, Mihai Olărescu, and the head of Parliamentary Constituency and Information Office from Leova, Mihai Timofti.

People, in turn, discussed the issues related to the revision of wages in health and public administration sector, particularly for young professionals, transparency in granting funds for regional development, revision of the Law on local public administration, but also ways of supporting the young entrepreneurs from Moldova.

On the other hand, Inna Supac praised the organization of the forum, since “it is meant to enhance the dialogue between members of parliament, civil society and representatives of local administration”. “Such dialogues are more than necessary for us, the members of the parliament, regardless of the political party we belong, because in this way we see the real problems you face day by day. For us matter to be heard the people`s voice", she stated.

About the importance of local autonomy and the Law no. 2474, on the change of land`s destination that were privatized, spoke the MP Ștefan Vlas. “In the local public administration (LPA) must dominate autonomy. We always rely on the autonomy of LPA, so that the mayor and citizens to decide on their own the destiny of their village. We want the law to allow local councils to have financial and administrative power. As long as local authorities will have more autonomy, the greater will be their effectiveness,” said the member of the Parliament.

The MP Elena Hrenova reiterated the importance of supporting women for their active involvement in public life and decision-making processes. "Today, women`s responsibilities are not only limited to raising children. Nowadays, women launch their own businesses, they are at the forefront of powerful organizations, they are present in the leading structures of the state. Many social problems are solved, thanks to the women involvement”, outlined Elena Hrenova. Moreover, the member of the parliament mentioned her legislative initiatives in the social field.

Other topics discussed focused on changing the Law on patents, revision the allowance amount for newborn babies. It has been also proposed to be ​​created an one-stop shop for entrepreneurs and an unique map on the allocation of foreign funds.

Regional forum is organized with the support of UN "Women in Politics" Programme, in partnership with the Common Platform of Dialogue of Women MPs and Parliament's Secretariat. At the end of each forum is formulated a summary of the discussions that will be submitted for review to the MPs from the Parliament. So far, similar parliamentary forums were held in Orhei, Leova, Edinet, Ungheni, Comrat, Ialoveni, Calărași, Soroca, Glodeni, Rezina, Cahul, Causeni. The next forum and the last one will take place on June 27, in Balti city.
