Epi situation update in education system. According to the latest updated data from the Ministry of Education, on November 17, 8 (6 last week) educational institutions in the country operate remotely due to quarantine measures as in the case of 153 classes. 288 students were tested positive with COVID-19 (up from 227 last week), and 3610 (last week- 4386) students were placed in self-isolation. 357 (last week - 300) teachers have been positively confirmed with the new Coronavirus and 264 (234) are in isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 85(73) people were infected with the new virus, and another 98 (89) are in self-isolation.
Grant from Japan for medical equipment Japan will provide a grant to the Government of Moldova in the amount of 800,000 EURO for purchasing of medical equipment, medical products and services, including for their maintenance.
Ministry of Health to increase testing up to 7000 tests/day- WB project Within the World Bank project "Emergency Response to COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova", the Government will purchase another 300,000 PCR tests. At the same time, the laboratories will be equipped with consumables, reagents and devices thus increasing the diagnosis capacity up to 7000 COVID-19 tests per day
