The Swiss Cooperation Office, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Moldova, support urgent measures aimed at preventing the risk of COVID-19 infection within the National Employment Agency (NEA) and its 35 territorial employment offices.
A woman living with HIV in Balti, a single mother of three, lives in great difficulty. Lack of any income and a wrecked house makes her situation even more difficult. Another woman, also infected with HIV, tries hard to feed her 3 children with 700 lei - the monthly income of her family during the pandemic. At the same time, in Comrat, a third woman living with HIV has no income and lives from community support.

Alongside doctors and other professionals, Police has one of the basic roles in managing crisis situations, like the one caused by COVID-19 spread. To intervene promptly and efficiently, police officers would also need an internal communication and collaboration tool. Such communication will be ensured in the future through an Intranet system, which will link all those approximatively 9,000 police employees in one single network. The feasibility study for the future system is developed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the financial support provided by the U.S. Government.

22 electric vehicles charging stations were installed on the main urban routes of the Republic of Moldova and are being tested free of charge during 1-15 May 2020. The infrastructure was created thanks to the partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of the Republic Moldova.

Since March 17, when the state of emergency was declared in the Republic of Moldova due to COVID-19, Mihai locked down at home. He is an IT specialist, therefore working from home has not thwarted his daily routine. His anxiety, however, was caused by the inability to go out to take HIV pre-exposure prevention (PrEP). Mihai has been receiving PrEP since September 2019. Although he has a permanent partner, he says taking PrEP feels safe.
