RESILIENCE AND TRANSFORMATION IN CHILD PROTECTION
In August 2022, UNICEF and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MLSP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide technical and financial assistance to strengthen the child protection and social assistance systems. The agreement is valid until 31 December 2026.
In 2025, through this partnership, UNICEF continued to support the MLSP in strengthening social services and enhancing professionals' capacities within the system to prevent family separation and violence, support children in situations of risk, and ensure the full integration of refugee children into the national child protection system.
At the same time, UNICEF supported the implementation of the EU–Republic of Moldova Association Agenda, contributing to the development of the European Child Guarantee and aligning the child protection system with the EU acquis.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MLSP) and UNICEF express their sincere appreciation to the Government of the United Kingdom (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office), and the European Union for their generous support in strengthening the social assistance and child protection system in the Republic of Moldova.
