The data will be analysed within the “Urban Mobility Hackathon. Hack the traffic in Chisinau” which will be organized during October 25-27, in Chisinau. Civil society, the community of IT professionals and technology enthusiasts are invited to register for the event by completing this registration form: https://bit.ly/2ptrnc6. For the first time, several flows of data showing the movement of people in the city will be overlaid and analysed: land population, population density and urban mobility. At the first stage of this project, the European Space Agency processed the primary mobility data (depersonalized data), generating a set of technical data that will be made available to the participants.

For 3 days, the participants in the hackathon will analyse the real data of human mobility and will come up with solutions in positioning the public transport stations, they will calculate the necessary trolley buses/buses and the frequency of their movement according to the real flow of people in the city and its variation. during the day.

The teams will be guided by experienced mentors from the European Space Agency, Orange Systems, the United Nations Development Programme and the Chisinau City Hall. Mentors will help participants analyse the data layers and develop innovative solutions for a smart, citizen-centered city.

The event will take place at Orange kITchen.

The “Urban Mobility Hackathon. Hack the traffic in Chisinau” is the result of an innovative partnership bringing together the United Nations Development Programme, the European Space Agency, Orange Systems, Chisinau City Hall, and the innovation labs: Green City Lab and Milab.
